I guess this is where I should write about how i started in broadcasting/podcasting. Before I get into that though let me tell you a little about myself and how I came to this point.

A little about me:
I was born in 1977, so figure out how old i am from there. I'm married to a wonderful woman who puts up with all the computer crap i do and live in Springfield, Illinois (for those who don't know that the capitol of Illinois, not Chicago). On this page you'll find pictures of my family, car, dogs and anything else that flips my flopper. I hope you enjoy everything and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about myself or the show.

Broadcasting:
Really the fascination started with watching WKRP, I know that really dates me. Anyway, since then I've always been interested in radio. In 5th grade I got my first chance to actual talk on air, broadcasting on a little 2 watt station we ran in the school giving the weather and lunch menu. It wasn't much, but it was enough to get me interested in it. While computers have always held 1st place in my interest I never gave up the idea of radio. If I wasn't making cheesy mix tapes playing DJ in between songs then I was listening and trying to figure out what made for good talk shows. In college I did 4 hours 3 times a week at the college station WWIU the hottest radio on TV, yeah we didn't actually broadcast on FM. Instead it broadcast along with video announcements on the campus TV network. It was a great way to keep the dream going though until I got older and found that with just an internet connection and a microphone my voice could be heard, this time unedited.

The Internet:
Once on the wire-waves PTR was born and reborn again and again with different hosts but always the same idea, have a conversation and invite others to listen in and join if they had something to contribute. The basic idea behind the show is covered in it's own bio, but in summary we think that 95% of the world is like us not far left or far right but somewhere in the middle where commonsense lives. So that's it now I get to live out a dream every other week or more with good guys that enjoy the same things I do and as long as it remains fun and entertaining I plan to continue no matter what happens in the future.

The Dream:
Of course every aspiring DJ wants to be the next Howard Stern or O&A, but being realistic I'd be happy with just being a little well known. something like a couple thousand followers or ten thousand people listening to the show on a regular basis. I just look forward to the day when I know somewhere someone is listening to the show and maybe nodding there head saying "That Shaggy is funny and smart and damn he's good looking too", ok well maybe that last part is a stretch.
